In Memoriam - Fred Breitbeil

DR FRED W BREITBEIL, III of Orlando, FL died after a battle with cancer. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Barbara; children, Steve (Bonnie), Ken (Jessica), Teresa (David) Mikeal and James; grandchildren, Christina, John, Pricilla, William and siblings, Robert Breitbeil and Marlene Henderson. Fred graduated from Xavier University, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving as a 1st Lieutenant, received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Cincinnati and was a 35 year professor at DePaul University. He continued research and publishing at the University of Central Florida after retirement. A private memorial will be held at December 17, 2011.

Dr. Fred W. Breitbeil III, passed away from a battle with cancer Tuesday, Dec 6, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 54 yrs, Barbara; children, Steve (Bonnie) Breitbeil, Ken (Jessica) Breitbeil, Teresa (David) Mikeal, James Breitbeil; grandchildren, Christina, John, Pricilla, William, brother Robert Breitbeil, and sister, Marlene Henderson. Fred graduated from Xavier Univ, served his country as a 1st Lt. in the Marine Corps, returned to the states to get his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Univ of Cincinnati. He was a professor at DePaul Univ for 35 yrs, where he taught chemistry and served as dept chairman. After retiring to Orlando, he became an avid golfer, continued research and publishing at the Univ. of Cent FL and worked at Dubsdread Golf Course. Fred was a great family man, teacher, Marine, and American. A private memorial will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec 17. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Fred W. Breitbeil III.
