Irene A. Nowak was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Joseph Nowak, and sister Harriet Becofske. She is survived by her loving sister, Sister Rita Nowak, OSB, and brother-in-law, Robert Becofske; nieces Kathy Wickert, Amy Conrad, Marianne Engels; nephews James, Dennis, Joseph and Peter Becofske and ten great-nieces and nephews. Irene was a loyal and faithful employee of the Treasurer's Office of DePaul University and also a longtime devoted parishioner of Saint Nicholas Parish in Evanston. Visitation Saturday Dec. 21 from 11 AM until time of funeral mass at Noon in the Saint Scholastica Monastery Chapel 7430 N. Ridge Blvd. Chicago 60645. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. Dear Colleagues,
It is with sorrow that we have learned of the death of Irene Nowak.
Irene served in the Treasurer's Office from 1949 until her retirement
in 1979. Irene passed away on December 18 at the age of 87. She is
survived by her sister, brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on December 21.
Our sympathy goes to the family, friends, and former colleagues who mourn the loss of Irene. May she rest in peace.
