Introduction

About the DePaul Emeritus Society

DePaul University values its ongoing connections with its faculty and staff retirees, as it values their past contributions to the university’s mission. The DePaul University Emeritus Society was founded in 2008 with the merger of the Staff Emeritus Society and the Emeritus Professors Association. The Society is sponsored by the University’s Office of Mission and Values.

The purpose of the DePaul Emeritus Society is to provide a means for ongoing connection, communication, and socialization between the university and its emeritus faculty and staff, and between individual retirees whose professional lives were for so many years dedicated to university service.

Photos, events, and information of interest to members of the DePaul Emeritus Society will be posted to this blog. Please take a look, add your comment, offer to be an "author" or just enjoy.

$30 Million DePaul Gift

Dear DePaul Alumni,

I am pleased and honored to share historic news about DePaul University. Richard H. Driehaus, distinguished alumnus and philanthropist, has made a transformative gift of $30 million that will support DePaul University's College of Commerce in its ongoing efforts to recruit and retain a faculty of national prominence. This gift will further position the College among the leading business schools in the nation.

For many years, Richard Driehaus has dedicated his time and resources to enhance business education at DePaul. In recognition of his extraordinary service, the university is honored to rename its College of Commerce the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business.

Those of you who are alumni of the College of Commerce will be also be alumni of the Driehaus College of Business. The Kellstadt Graduate School of Business will retain its name as part of the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business.

This landmark gift is the largest among many generous investments by alumni and friends through the Many Dreams, One Mission Campaign for DePaul University. The magnitude of this gift pushes us past the overall $250 million goal for the campaign, but we will continue to work through 2014 to build resources for key strategic areas including scholarships, faculty support, and educational facilities.

Thank you to all of you who have contributed to the Many Dreams One Mission Campaign and supported the continued excellence of DePaul University. To learn more about this landmark contribution and the Many Dreams, One Mission Campaign, please visit: http://campaign.depaul.edu.

Sincerely, Mary C. Finger
