St. Vincent's Health Fair October 23-26

Of interest to retirees is the "Information Session" on Medicare Advantage, Monday, October 23, 2017, Lincoln Park Student Center, Room 313, at 11:00 a.m. This is your opportunity to come with your questions regarding the Medicare Advantage Program.

BCBSIL Medicare Advantage Information Sessions

All retirees (over 65) should have received information packets on the new Group Medicare Advantage plan that will become effective January 1, 2017. If you haven't received your packet and you are retired and over 65, call Jen Rupp in Human Resources at 312-362-8574.

Jen Rupp provided the following information: "I will work on putting together an email to send to all retirees who are either eligible for Medicare Advantage or have a spouse that is eligible for it.   The email will include the dates for the sessions and also the link and phone number for the webinar (the phone number was not included in the letter from BCBS because normally when somebody logs into the webinar, the phone number will be provided at that time).  That way even if somebody doesn’t have the ability to watch the webinar, they can still call in and listen to the presentation."

St. Vincent's Health Benefit Fair - October 12-15

Save the Date for the St. Vincent’s Health Benefit Fair! This year’s St. Vincent’s Health Benefit Fair will feature free flu shots, free and discounted wellness screenings, giveaways, raffle prizes and a vendor fair. Additional details to follow in the coming weeks.  Date Time Location Monday 10/12/15 7:30am - 11:30am Lincoln Park Student Center Rooms 120 A&B Tuesday 10/13/15 7:30am - 11:30am Lincoln Park Student Center Rooms 120 A&B Wednesday 10/14/15 7:00am - 11:30am Loop DePaul Center Concourse Level Thursday 10/15/15 7:00am - 11:30am Loop DePaul Center Concourse Level Wellness Screening The screening will include testing for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver and kidney disease and much more.  Panel C Blood Test - Chemistry profile of 36 different tests, including CBC (comprehensive blood count) and cholesterol analysis. Blood Pressure Evaluation ? Your blood pressure results will be recorded and explained to you. Physician Summary Report ? A report provided to you to share with your physician. PRIOR REGISTRATION is required for a wellness screening.  To register, go towww.myinteractivehealth.com If you have already registered on Interactive Health’s website go to the Returning Users box and log on using your User ID and password.  If you forgot your password, the site will allow you to re-set it and will remind you of your User ID.  Please do not try to re-register. If you are visiting the site for the first time, go to the New Users box, enter the Sponsor Code K6UV3 .  Follow the prompts to register, and create your personal User ID and password.  When finished, you will be logged on.  Please have your BCBS insurance card ready. Click the link in the Schedule your Health Evaluation box at the top of the Home page and follow the prompts.  You will select the location, date and time of your appointment, and complete your health history questionnaire. Provide your physician’s name, fax and phone numbers when you register and Interactive Health will send your lab results directly to your physician.  (optional) Continue until you are prompted to confirm your appointment. You may also schedule a screening by calling Interactive Health at (800) 840-6100 between 8 AM – 6 PM CT. Fast for 12 hours before your test (you may drink plain water) Keep an eye out for open enrollment information, which will be mailed out to your mailing address towards the end of September! 2013 St. Vincent Health Faire

The 2013 St. Vincent's Health Benefit Faire will be held on October 15 and 16, 2013.  Flu shots and wellness screenings* including testing for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver and kidney disease will be available.  In addition, several special wellness events** will be offered.

• Preventing Diabetes: A seminar to promote awareness of adult (Type 2) diabetes risk factors.
• Managing Seasonal Illness: A Board Certified family medicine specialist will present strategies for boosting the immune system during the cold an flu season.
• Exercise 101: Will provide attendees with information and tips to consider in the implementation of an exercise program.

DePaul's Benefits Department will offer two sessions especially for retirees updating the upcoming retiree medical plan changes for 2014.  They are scheduled for:

• Loop: DePaul Center, Concourse Level, October 15, 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
• LPC: Student Center, Room 120 A&B, October 16, 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.

Please mark your calendars for these events and look for additional information regarding the Faire and your Open Enrollment materials next week in the US mail.

St. Vincent Health Faire, 2012

The first day of the 2012 St. Vincent Health Faire, saw nearly 450 individuals at the Loop Campus and hundreds in the afternoon at LPC.  Tomorrow morning, at Lincoln Park, health screening will continue.

Even Elaine Beaudoin took part today getting her annual flu shot.




A number of tables, each sharing information on aspects of wellness and other DPU benefits, were set up in the first floor of the Student Center.

In the afternoon, Diana Chin of the HR Benefits department, shared the 2012 changes in benefits and answered retirees' and "prospective" retirees' questions.
