Book Club selects The Goldfinch
- The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
- June 4th
- Discussion starts at 1:30 pm
- Richardson Library, Room 115
At the meeting on April 1 we discussed the schedule and what we would choose for the first book. After sharing some of our current reading as well our experiences (or not) with book clubs, we selected this title. The Goldfinch is on several Best Books of 2013 lists. For those not familiar with the book, you might want to read this review in the New York Times.
It is available in hardcover or electronically, but not yet as a paperback.
We decided to meet the first Wednesday of every other month, with the next meeting on June 4. Discussion will begin at 1:30 pm. For anyone who would like to brown bag lunch prior to the discussion, the room will be available so we can eat and socialize before our book conversation. The Richardson Library, Room 115, has been scheduled for all remaining meetings in 2014.
Those of us who met on April 1 considered other titles, among them Sue Monk Kidd's The Invention of Wings and Anna Quindlen's Still Life with Breadcrumbs as possible future books. You may be interested
in reading those books, or have other suggestions. Join us whenever your schedule permits for conversations about books and reading. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Helen Marlborough or Kathryn DeGraff.

This meeting will be held on April 1, 2014, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. in Richardson Library 115 on the Lincoln Park Campus.
